After your laser hair removal session at Epilia, it is essential to take care of your skin to reduce the risk of irritation.
Right after the laser session :
- Soon after the session, redness and slight swelling may occur, but these symptoms usually disappear very quickly.
- Your laser hair removal specialist will provide you with a moisturizing cream to apply immediately after your session. This step is done directly in the treatment room at Epilia.
- If you still feel warmth or itching on the treated area the next day, it is recommended to contact our phone service without delay.
- Your laser hair removal specialist will provide all the necessary information and answer any questions you may have about your laser treatment follow-up.
Here are some practical recommendations and precautions to follow :
- Hydrating the treated area should be done intensively for three days following the session, morning and evening. For this, it is recommended to use a moisturizing cream, preferably neutral and fragrance-free. It is important to continue keeping your skin hydrated throughout your treatment.
- Avoid using overly aggressive exfoliating products.
- The elimination of the hair bulb occurs within three weeks after the session. It is recommended to perform a scrub five days after your session.
- If you have treated your underarms with laser, do not apply deodorant to this area for 24 hours after the session.
- Avoid exposing your skin to excessive heat (no hot showers or baths). It is also advised not to go to the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, or hammam for 48 hours after your session.
- Sun exposure is strictly prohibited (including UV rays and self-tanning products). This rule applies throughout the duration of your treatment for the area treated with laser hair removal.
Can I shave or remove hair between laser hair removal sessions?
- It is preferable to avoid shaving between sessions. As the treatment progresses, the regrowth of remaining hairs will naturally slow down, and the hairs will gradually become finer and more spaced out.
- All other hair removal methods that remove the bulb (such as waxing, tweezing, electric epilators, etc.) should also be avoided between your sessions.
How should I prepare for my next session?
- It is recommended to shave or trim the hair just before your next session so that it is very short (maximum 1 mm). Shaving the face for women or areas with fine hair is not advised.
Your laser technician will provide you with detailed instructions to help you prepare for your next appointment at Epilia.
